🌱 Elles font partie de l’éco-pâturage, une tonte naturelle qui favorise la fertilité des sols grâce à l’engrais naturellement produit, dans les vignes et le parc de la propriété.
Cette action réduit l’utilisation des machines et est entreprise depuis 3 ans au Château Fourcas Hosten. Egalement, la tonte à ras limite le risque de gel.

❔ What is the role of ewes?

🌱 They participate in eco-grazing in the vineyard and the parc, a way for Chateau Fourcas Hosten to naturally improve soils quality thanks to their fertilizer without any machine to mow. Mowing at the grown level avoids the frost.
And it's also a boost for the biodiversity !

Responsable de la vigne et de son bon développement, il organise tous les travaux liés au vignoble. Son objectif est d'obtenir des raisins de grande qualité, produits dans le respect de l'environnement. 🌱🌿

Cette semaine, il a dégusté les baies de sauvignon blanc, sauvignon gris et sémillon avec M. Fakorellis, notre œnologue consultant pour les blancs. La mission : déterminer une date de récolte pour les vendanges en fonction de l'avancement des vignes et de l'évolution en maturité des raisins. 🍇

🇬🇧 In charge of the vineyard and its development, he organizes all the work related to it. His objective is to obtain high quality grapes, produced in an environmentally friendly manner. 🌱🌿

Portrait n°1 : Grégory - Maître de chai

Spécialiste des techniques de vinification et d'élevage du vin, le maître de chai participe à toutes les étapes de l'entrée du raisin jusqu'à la mise en bouteille du vin. 🍷

A la propriété depuis maintenant 21 ans, Grégory était cette semaine en plein soutirage. Une technique qui permet de séparer le vin de ses lies et dépôts en soutirant le vin des barriques afin les nettoyer.

🇬🇧 A specialist in wine making and maturation techniques, the cellar master participates in all stages from the entry of the grapes to the bottling of the wine. 🍷

At the property for 21 years now, Gregory was this week in the middle of racking. A technique that separates the wine from its lees and deposits by racking the wine from the barrels to clean them.
